WingSwept Recognized for Excellence in Communication

RALEIGH (June 28, 2006) - The Raleigh Public Relations Society (RPRS) has honored WingSwept, with four awards, including a best in division award for audio/visual communications, during the organization's annual Sir Walter Raleigh Awards for Excellence in Communication ceremony, held last night at the RBC Center.

"I am honored that WingSwept's work has been so well recognized among our communications peers," said Jay Strickland, president of WingSwept, and RPRS Web Chair. "Our clients challenge us to meet their individual business needs, and the Sir Walter Raleigh Awards is a perfect showcase to demonstrate how our tailored communications tools address those particular opportunities for every single client."

With a perfect score from the independent judging panel, WingSwept earned the gold and best in division awards in the audio/visual communications division for the launch of RushHour Karting's new Web site, www.rushhourkarting.com. WingSwept developed a dynamic, cost-effective site to build awareness among RushHour's three distinct audience groups: first-time, occasional and walk-in visitors; repeat visitors seeking more advanced racing opportunities; and local corporate and group event leaders seeking a unique special events venue.

WingSwept also earned two silver audio/visual communications awards for the CD-ROM component of Prevent Child Abuse North Carolina's "Back to School" awareness campaign and for an e-mail campaign to promote Auto Remarketing News Magazine's two annual conferences. The company also earned an honorable mention for the redesign of the company's Web site, www.wingswept.com, which was unveiled last August.

The RPRS Sir Walter Raleigh Awards competition is a statewide showcase of exemplary work by public relations and communication professionals. Awards were presented in six divisions and 24 categories, and entries were judged by the Sacramento (Calif.) Public Relations Association.

The Raleigh Public Relations Society, formed in 1959, is an organization for public relations professionals in the Raleigh area. RPRS hosts professional development opportunities including monthly meetings and an annual awards banquet. For more information, see www.rprs.org.
